National School Standards

The ANMF is delighted to be able to release the National School Nursing Professional Practice Standards for the benefit of all school nurses and school communities in guiding consistency for competent and safe practice; and, for use in advocating for funding allocation for school nurses in all public, private and independant school settings. This is vital for the health and well-being of current children and young people in Australia, and for building a healthy nation for future generations.

Anaphylaxis Resources

Australia is regarded as the anaphylaxis capital of the world, with the highest number of children affected by severe allergic reaction. In Victoria, schools are required to comply with Ministerial Order 706. The Victorian Department of Education has established policies to ensure schools effectively manage students at risk of anaphylaxis. Additionally, each school must develop its own local anaphylaxis policy to meet legislative requirements and ensure all staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond appropriately to an anaphylactic reaction.
